The City of Guelph is a strategic launching point for Canadian corporate headquarters. These linkages connect Guelph with 16 post-secondary institutions and a highly educated regional labour force of 3.5 million.
Companies looking for locations for research and development (R&D) opportunities located in the centre of the Toronto-Guelph-Waterloo Innovation Corridor, Guelph offers specialized R&D assistance for companies through each step of the innovation continuum; from research, and training programs to commercialization and technology transfer.
With access to Province-wide grant and incentive programs, the cost of R&D is significantly reduced for companies located in Guelph. Guelph features more than 50 different research centres, including: Innovation Guelph, NSF International and Ontario Centres of Excellence, among others. The University of Guelph alone has received more than $150 million in investments over the past 12 months, to further innovation and catalyze discovery.
The City of Guelph will assist foreign companies at Think Canada by providing services such as site location analysis; assistance with expansion projects; advice and referrals to government agencies and organizations as well as manage and market city-owned industrial and commercial lands.
Think Canada is pleased to work with the hardworking economic development team at the City of Guelph to showcase the community on a global scale and welcome new opportunities for growth.
